At the moment there's a few bits an pieces on the go:
Slip Jevans - Hero of the Union:
Sci-fi short story about a lazy and cowardly security guard bungling his way through war.
Untitled -
Set after End of Days following a group of adventurers on a quest to rescue a damsel in distress.
Glanderice Goldstock - Private Interferer -
This is my idea for a story for the www.nanowrimo.org event which is running in November 2011, the synopsis for which is below. Expect a short story featuring Glanderice in the Bonus Scrawlings section soon enough.
'Mrs Shrilpith has made a discovery. Her lodger, Mr Xantrist, is lying on the floor of his study leaking vital fluids over her magnolia carpet and muttering about 'the cock...'. The watch have been called and confirm that he is now deceased, and can be buried without worry, offering to send a cart that afternoon to pick up the body.
What the watch first dismiss as the motiveless killing of mild-mannered Mr Xantrist might not be quite so straight-forward as it first seems, There's no murder weapon, no sign of forced entry, no motive or suspects it seems.
The city of Beagol needs someone who thinks outside the bucket, someone who leaves no stone unturned, no matter how many slugs are beneath it. Private Interferer Glanderice Goldstock is the only man dwarf who thinks he can catch the mysterious felon and ensure justice is done, but there are other parties who would rather it was all just left alone. Can he keep his wits about him long enough to stay alive long enough to discover the truth? Can the city of Beagol rest easy in the knowledge that an ill-tempered, chain-smoking dwarf is on the case? Or will the killer claim his second victim and keep the truth hidden for the rest of time?''
